Shopify SEO Consultant
Senior-only Shopify SEO for stores that have outgrown the app-and-hope approach. I audit, I write the fix list, and I do the work myself.

A Shopify SEO consultant fixes the 20% of search performance that Shopify leaves to you: collection and product page targeting, site structure, duplicate content, schema, the blog, page speed passengers, and now the AI shopping surfaces that read your product feed. Apps handle the mechanical 80%. The consultant's job is judgement: which pages should rank for what, in which order, and what to leave alone.
Most stores I audit have already installed the apps. They have an SEO plugin writing meta descriptions, a speed app compressing images, and a schema app fighting the theme for the same markup. What they do not have is a plan: a map of which collection owns which keyword, product pages that answer the buying question, and a blog that captures demand instead of keeping a diary. That plan is what I sell, and I execute it too.
I work with UK and US stores on Shopify and Shopify Plus, from one-founder brands to ecommerce teams with a developer in-house. Everything below is written from stores I have grown myself, including the complete Shopify SEO guide that sits behind this page.
Shopify SEO services, delivered by the person you speak to.
Shopify technical audit
A 40-point platform-specific audit: crawl paths, duplicate URLs, canonical logic, theme and app conflicts, speed passengers, and the settings Shopify quietly changes. You get a prioritised fix list with a pass condition for every item.

Collection and product page optimisation
Collection pages are where Shopify stores actually rank. I map one keyword per collection, rewrite the four-layer template (title, intro, grid copy, FAQ) and fix product pages so they answer the buying question and carry the markup AI shopping surfaces read.

Site structure and internal links
Shopify URLs are flat, so hierarchy has to live in menus, breadcrumbs, filters and links. I design the entity map, kill the duplicate collection paths and make sure every money page is three clicks from the homepage.
Schema and feed setup
One source of truth for structured data instead of a theme and an app both claiming your products. Product, Offer, Organization and Breadcrumb markup that matches your Merchant Center feed, because Google now checks them against each other.

Blog content engine
Three content types that pay for a store, a rigid template that ranks, and a publishing plan tied to your collections. Not a diary, not a news feed, not 400 words about a product launch.

AI shopping visibility
ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI shopping surfaces recommend products from feeds and structured data, not from your homepage copy. I set the Shopify settings, feed fields and markup that get your products into those answers.

Migration and international
Moving to Shopify, or expanding to a second market? I own the redirect chain, the URL map and the Markets or subfolder decision so rankings survive the move and the new market is worth the workload.

Ongoing Shopify SEO
For stores that want the fix list implemented and then kept moving: a monthly retainer with a fixed scope, Search Console reporting and no account manager between you and the work.
Service: Full-Stack Monthly SEO Retainer
Four steps, one person.
-
Audit
I crawl the store, read Search Console and Merchant Center, and check every one of the 40 Shopify-specific points. Five business days for a written report.
-
Fix list
Every issue gets a priority, an owner and a pass condition. You see what moves revenue first and what can wait, in plain English, not a tool export.
-
Implement
I make the changes in the theme, the apps and the content myself, or brief your developer with exact specifications and check the result.
-
Measure
Clicks, impressions and position per collection in Search Console, product visibility in Merchant Center and AI surfaces, reported monthly against the baseline.
Numbers from stores I grew, not case studies I borrowed.
Click lift from the four-layer collection page template, documented in the collection page SEO guide.
Click lift from the rigid blog template, documented in the Shopify blog SEO guide.
Monthly impressions four months after I rescued a failed Shopify migration for REHAUS, with average position halved and ChatGPT ranking the store number one for second-hand designer furniture.
Three Putt Golf is a Shopify brand I own: 1.18 million impressions from a new domain. Every method on this page was tested there before a client paid for it.

If you search for a Shopify SEO expert, specialist or freelancer, you are describing the same thing: one experienced person who knows the platform. That is what this page is. If you need a team of ten and a Slack channel, an agency is the right call and I will say so on the first conversation.
Sixteen guides, written from the inside of the platform.
Every guide below is one I wrote from work on real stores. They are free, they are long, and they are the same playbook I use on client engagements. Start with the complete guide and the checklist, then go to the section that matches your problem.

Shopify SEO consultant FAQ.
Do I need a Shopify SEO consultant or just an SEO app?
If your store has under 50 products, no competitors ranking above you and no plans to grow, an app is enough. If you are losing collection rankings to competitors, have a theme and an app fighting over schema, or want products recommended by AI shopping surfaces, an app cannot make those decisions. Read the Shopify SEO apps guide for which apps to keep either way.
How much does Shopify SEO consulting cost?
I price in three shapes: a fixed-price audit with a written fix list, a one-off implementation project scoped from that list, or a monthly retainer for stores that want the work kept moving. Ask for the current price list through the contact page and you will get it the same day, with no discovery call required. For market context, my guide to SEO pricing in the UK covers what consultants and agencies charge.
How long before a Shopify store sees results?
Technical fixes such as duplicate collection paths, canonical errors and schema conflicts show in Search Console within two to six weeks of Google recrawling. Collection page rewrites take one to three months to settle. New blog content on an established store starts ranking in three to six months. I set the baseline in week one so every change is measured against it.
Do you work with Shopify Plus?
Yes. Plus stores get checkout extensibility, Markets and more theme control, which changes the international and speed work but not the fundamentals. The audit checklist is the same 40 points with Plus-specific pass conditions where they differ.
Can you work alongside my developer or existing agency?
Yes, and it is often the best arrangement. I write the fix list with exact specifications, your developer implements in the theme, and I verify each change after deployment. If you have a design or paid media agency, I coordinate with them on structure and landing pages without needing to replace them.
Do you work with US stores?
Yes. Most of my SaaS clients are North American and my Shopify work covers both markets. Search Console, Merchant Center and the AI shopping surfaces behave the same on either side of the Atlantic, and I schedule calls to suit US Eastern and Central time.
What is the difference between a Shopify SEO consultant, expert and specialist?
Nothing that matters. All three describe one experienced person rather than an agency. The question to ask any of them is whether they have grown a Shopify store themselves and can show you Search Console for it. I can.
