About this audit

What this audit does

Written report Loom walkthrough 30-minute call Within 5 business days No credit card

The review covers five areas: technical SEO, on-page signals, schema, content quality and AI visibility. The findings reach you as a written report, a Loom video and a call.

You submit your URL and a short note about what is worrying you. Within five business days you receive a written report that ranks the issues by impact, a Loom video in which I talk through each finding on screen, and a 30-minute call to answer your questions and agree what happens next.

It is built for owners and marketing leads of established sites: SaaS, e-commerce, professional services and content businesses that already have traffic and want to know what is holding it back. It is not a full crawl of every URL, and I say where the line is further down. If you have worked through my technical SEO audit checklist and want a second pair of eyes on what you found, this is the next step.

What the audit covers

Five areas, reviewed by hand, ranked by impact

The free audit looks at the pages that matter most: your homepage, your main commercial pages and a sample of content pages. For each area I record what I found, why it matters and what to fix first.

Area What I check What you get
Technical SEO Whether Google can crawl and index the pages that earn you money: robots.txt, sitemap, noindex and canonical mistakes, redirect chains, broken internal links, mobile rendering and Core Web Vitals on key templates. The technical faults suppressing rankings, each with affected URLs and a plain-English fix.
On-page SEO Title tags, meta descriptions, heading structure, keyword targeting and internal linking on key pages, including whether two pages compete for the same query. Rewritten title and meta examples for the pages with the biggest gap, plus any cannibalisation I find.
Schema and structured data Which schema types are present, whether they validate and whether they describe the right entities: Organization, Person, Product, Article, Service and breadcrumbs. I also flag legacy FAQ and HowTo markup that no longer earns rich results. A schema gap list: what to add, fix and remove, and on which page.
Content quality Whether important pages answer the searcher's question, show first-hand experience and a named author, match the depth of the top results and are still current. A shortlist of pages to refresh, consolidate or prune, in the order that recovers the most traffic.
AI visibility Whether AI crawlers are blocked in robots.txt, whether your brand and author read as clear entities, whether key pages are structured so an AI answer can cite them, and a high-level view of the mentions and links behind that. How citable your site is today and the two or three changes most likely to earn AI Overview and chatbot citations.
How it works

Four steps from form to a prioritised fix list

  1. You submit the form

Your website URL and email address are the only required fields. Business type, rough traffic, whether you can share Search Console access and a sentence on your biggest SEO worry help me point the review at the right pages. It takes under two minutes.

    2 minutes
  2. I review your site

I work through the five areas above on your key pages, using a crawl of those pages, public data and anything you have shared. I am looking for the handful of issues that explain your traffic, not every warning a tool can produce.

    Within 5 business days
  3. You receive the report and a Loom walkthrough

The written report ranks every issue by impact with affected URLs and a fix note. The Loom video walks through the findings on screen so you can follow at your own pace and share it with your developer.

    Delivered by email
  4. You and I talk it through on a 30-minute call

Once you have read the report and watched the Loom, you book a 30-minute call. I answer your questions and set out the most valuable next steps, whether you do them yourself or not.

At a time that suits you
Fit check

Who it is for, and who it is not for

A good fit if

  • Your organic traffic has plateaued or dropped and you want an independent view of why.
  • You migrated, relaunched or redesigned in the last year and suspect something broke.
  • You are deciding whether to invest in SEO and want the state of the foundation first.
  • You run a SaaS, e-commerce, professional services or content site and want AI visibility checked alongside classic SEO.
  • You have worked through a checklist yourself and want a senior second opinion.

Not the right fit if

  • The site is brand new with little content. A content strategy is the better starting point.
  • You need every URL on a site with thousands of pages crawled. That is the paid Technical SEO Audit.
  • You need it faster than five business days.
  • You are an agency looking for white-label audit work. I only audit sites for the businesses that own them.
  • You want keyword research or a content plan. The audit diagnoses; it does not plan.
Sample report

What the report looks like

Every free audit uses the same structure as my paid audits: a one-page summary of the three things to fix first, then a section per area with each finding rated critical, high, medium or low, the URLs affected and a fix a developer can act on. The Loom follows the same order, so you can jump to the section that matters most.

After the call

What happens after the audit

You leave the call with a prioritised list of issues, the fix for each and a view on what to do first. Most people do one of three things with it.

  • Implement it yourselves. The report is written so you or your developer can act on it without me. Plenty of people do, and I count it as a good outcome.
  • Ask for the deeper version. If the problems are structural or site-wide, the paid Technical SEO Audit covers every URL, and the AI Visibility Audit goes deep on entity, citation and E-E-A-T signals.
  • Talk about ongoing work. If there is a fit I will say so and follow up in writing. If there is not, I will say that too.

There is no sales sequence and no mailing list. The case studies show how similar engagements have played out.

Honest limits

What this audit does not do

  • It is not a full crawl. I review key pages and templates, not every URL. Site-wide issues on large catalogues need the paid Technical SEO Audit.
  • It does not use Search Console data unless you share it. Without read-only access, indexing and query-level findings are inferred rather than measured.
  • It is not a backlink audit. You get a high-level view of authority signals, not a link-by-link review.
  • It does not fix anything. You get the diagnosis and the fix list; implementation is yours, your developer's or a separate engagement.
  • Slots are limited. I take on a small number each month so each one gets proper attention.
FAQ

Questions people ask before requesting the audit

Is the free SEO audit really free?

Yes. No credit card, no trial, no obligation. I offer a limited number each month because it is the most honest way to show how I work. Some people who take one become clients; many do not, and that is fine.

How long does it take?

The report and Loom arrive within five business days of submitting the form. The 30-minute call is booked after that. If I am at capacity when you submit, I will tell you the realistic date rather than let it slip.

What do I need to provide?

Only your website URL and an email address. The optional fields (business type, rough traffic, Search Console access, your biggest SEO challenge) let me focus on the pages and problems that matter to you.

How is this different from a free audit tool like Semrush or Screaming Frog?

Those tools list every warning they can detect and leave you to work out what matters. I use similar tools as inputs, then apply judgement: which three issues explain your traffic, which warnings to ignore, and what order to fix things in.

Will you look at my Google Search Console data?

Only if you share read-only access, which you can indicate on the form. It is optional, but it turns inferred findings about indexing and queries into measured ones.

Do you audit sites of any size?

Yes, but the free audit reviews key pages and templates rather than every URL. For a large e-commerce or enterprise site, I will say on the call whether the paid Technical SEO Audit is the right next step, and why.

Will I get a sales pitch on the call?

No. The call is for the findings and your questions. If I think ongoing work would help I will say so in one sentence and follow up in writing; if not, I will tell you that instead.

Ready to find out what is holding your site back?
