Legal & Purchasing

Refund &
Cancellation
Policy

Effective date1 January 2025
Last updatedMarch 2026
Applies toAll GWContent Services

I sell productised SEO, AEO, and content services — not physical goods. Before purchasing, please read this policy so you know exactly where you stand if plans change.

Summary — Key Points
  • Once I've started work on your order, I don't issue refunds.
  • You have a 48-hour cooling-off window on all one-off purchases, provided I haven't started yet.
  • Monthly retainers require 30 days' written notice to cancel — I don't refund mid-cycle payments.
  • If I fail to deliver what was agreed, I'll fix it at no extra cost or issue a proportional refund.
  • All requests must come in writing to graeme@gwcontent.com.
01 — Scope

Who & What This Covers

This policy covers all services purchased through www.gwcontent.com and its Shopify checkout — whether that's a one-off productised deliverable or a rolling monthly retainer. It applies to everything I offer under the GWContent name, including Technical SEO Audits, Content Strategy, internal linking audits, AI Visibility Audits, content programmes, and all retainer packages.

It doesn't apply to bespoke project scopes agreed separately via a signed statement of work. Those are governed by their own contract terms.

02 — One-Off Productised Services

Cooling-Off & Commencement

Every one-off purchase comes with a 48-hour cooling-off window from the time your payment is confirmed. If you request a cancellation within this window and I haven't started work yet, I'll refund you in full within 5–10 business days.

Once I've started — meaning any research, audit activity, content production, or deliverable preparation has begun — refunds aren't available. I typically begin within 3–5 business days of purchase unless we've agreed otherwise. You'll receive an onboarding email confirming the start date.

0–48 hrs
Full refund available if I haven't started — just request in writing.
Work started
No refund. I'll deliver the full agreed scope. Partial refunds aren't issued.
Delivered
All sales are final once I've sent you the deliverable.
03 — Monthly Retainers

Cancellation & Notice

My retainers run on a rolling monthly basis and are billed at the start of each service month. To cancel, I need 30 days' written notice before your next billing date. Send notice to graeme@gwcontent.com.

Once a monthly payment has been processed, I don't refund it. I'll complete that month's work as normal, and your cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period following the notice window.

📅
Notice Period

30 days' written notice before your next billing date. Late notice pushes cancellation to the following cycle.

💳
Mid-Cycle Refunds

Not available. If you cancel mid-month, I'll continue delivering through the paid period at full scope.

📋
On Exit

I'll hand over all completed deliverables and documentation within 5 business days of your final date.

04 — Non-Refundable Situations

When Refunds Don't Apply

The following situations are non-refundable regardless of when they arise:

  • Change of mind after the 48-hour cooling-off period has passed.
  • Work already commenced on any part of the agreed scope.
  • Dissatisfaction with SEO, AEO, or content outcomes — results are influenced by factors outside my control, including Google algorithm changes, competitor activity, and your site's existing technical health.
  • Failure to provide required access, materials, or approvals within the agreed timeframe, causing delays.
  • Retainer payments already processed for the current or forthcoming billing period.
  • Partially consumed deliverable bundles — for example, if I've completed 3 of 5 content briefs.
  • Purchases made using discount codes or promotional pricing.
05 — If I Don't Deliver

My Obligations to You

If I fail to deliver the agreed scope — or what I produce materially falls short of the service description — you're entitled to a remedy. Depending on the situation, that will be one of the following:

  • I revise and complete the outstanding scope at no additional charge.
  • A proportional credit applied to a future service or retainer cycle.
  • A partial refund reflecting the undelivered portion of the scope, issued within 10 business days.
  • A full refund if no work has been delivered and I can't complete it within a reasonable timeframe.

Remedy requests need to be raised within 14 days of the delivery date — or 14 days of the agreed delivery date if delivery didn't happen. Requests made after this window may not be considered.

06 — How to Request

Raising a Refund or Cancellation

All requests need to come in writing. Please contact me directly before raising anything with Shopify or your payment provider — in most cases I can resolve things quickly without a formal dispute.

Response Time

I aim to respond to all refund and cancellation requests within 2 business days.

💰
Processing Time

Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.

07 — Disputes & Chargebacks

Resolving Disagreements

If you're not happy with how I've handled your request, please escalate it in writing and I'll review it again. I take every dispute seriously and I want to reach a fair resolution.

If you initiate a chargeback with your bank or payment provider before attempting to resolve things directly with me, I reserve the right to contest it with full documentation of the agreed scope and work delivered.

This policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes that can't be resolved informally may be referred to the appropriate small claims or alternative dispute resolution process.

08 — Your Statutory Rights

Consumer Rights

If you're a consumer based in the United Kingdom or European Union, nothing in this policy overrides your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (UK) or applicable EU consumer protection legislation.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, consumers have a 14-day right to cancel digital service contracts. However, this right is waived when you expressly request that work begins within the cancellation period — which is the default for all GWContent productised services. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge and agree to this waiver.

09 — Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

A full refund is available within 48 hours of purchase, provided I haven't started work yet. Once any research, audit activity, or content production has begun, refunds aren't available. All one-off sales are final once the deliverable has been sent.
Send a written cancellation request to graeme@gwcontent.com at least 30 days before your next billing date. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period following that notice window. I don't issue mid-cycle refunds — I'll complete that month's work as normal.
No. SEO and AEO outcomes are influenced by factors outside my control — Google algorithm updates, competitor behaviour, your site's existing technical health, and more. I can only be accountable for delivering the agreed scope of work, not the downstream results. If you'd like to understand what's realistic before purchasing, get in touch first.
If I fail to deliver the agreed scope, or what I produce materially falls short of the service description, you're entitled to a remedy. I'll either revise and complete the outstanding work at no extra charge, apply a proportional credit to a future service, or issue a partial or full refund depending on what was and wasn't delivered. Remedy requests must be raised within 14 days of the delivery date.
Once a refund is approved, it's returned to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. I aim to respond to all refund and cancellation requests within 2 business days of receiving them.
Not as a standard refund. Partially consumed bundles are non-refundable — if I've completed 3 of 5 content briefs, those are considered delivered. However, if I haven't started the remaining briefs and you need to stop, I'll apply a credit for the unstarted work at my discretion. Contact me to discuss.
Please escalate your concern in writing to graeme@gwcontent.com and I'll review it again. If we still can't reach a resolution, disputes are governed by the laws of England and Wales and may be referred to small claims or alternative dispute resolution. Please don't initiate a chargeback before attempting direct resolution — I reserve the right to contest chargebacks with full documentation of the agreed scope and work delivered.
