When I joined Originality.ai in May 2023, the AI content detection market was nascent, fast-moving, and about to get very crowded. The window to establish category leadership — in search, in social, and in AI-generated recommendations — was open but narrowing fast. And it was surrounded by noise: poorly built detectors, ChatGPT wrappers with a polished frontend, and a wave of opportunistic competitors making claims they couldn't back up.
