The Best Website Migration SEO Agencies and Consultants in the UK (2026)
Published: 3 November 2026 | Last updated: 3 November 2026 | 10 min read

A website migration is the one SEO project where a mistake shows up as a cliff, not a slope.
One morning the redirects point to the wrong place, and by the end of the week half your organic traffic has gone.
So you go looking for a migration specialist, and every SEO agency in the UK seems to have a "website migration services" page.
However, a service page tells you very little.
A migration case study with numbers tells you a lot.
Full disclosure: I'm an SEO consultant who does migration work, and I'm on this list. I've put myself through exactly the same checks as everyone else.
In this guide, I'll show you the trust signals I checked, then take you through nine UK website migration SEO agencies and consultants, grouped by the kind of migration each one suits best.
Short on time? Here are the key takeaways
- Match the specialist to the job: rescuing a migration that's already gone wrong is different work from planning one. Two entries here publish rescue results with numbers.
- Ask for a migration case study, not an SEO one: only three of the nine show migration-specific results with numbers on their own sites.
- Most don't publish prices: only two of the nine publish any starting price.
- Bring them in before the redirect map: whoever you hire, they need to see the old URLs before the new site is built, not after launch.
How I checked every name on this list
I didn't take anyone's word for it, including my own.
- Migration-specific results: a migration case study with numbers, not general SEO growth.
- A company you can look up: I checked Companies House wherever the business shows a company number or trades under its own name.
- Independent reviews: reviews on Clutch or Trustpilot, where the business doesn't choose what's shown.
- Published prices: a starting price on its own website.
- Who does the work: a named consultant, or an agency team.
I checked everything on 2 November 2026.
Nobody paid to be on this list.

If your migration has already gone wrong
A rescue is different work.
The old site is gone, the redirect rules are half right, and every week you wait, Google forgets a little more of what the old URLs earned.
GWContent (Graeme Whiles)
Best for: businesses that have migrated and lost traffic, and need someone to find out why quickly.
Yes, this is me. Here's how I score on the same checks.
- Who does the work: me. No account managers and no juniors.
- Company: GW Copywriting Limited, trading as GWContent, incorporated in 2023 (Companies House 14724975).
- Migration results: REHAUS moved its Shopify store to a new domain without any SEO support, and 82% of its 5,270 redirect rules pointed back at the dead domain. I rebuilt around 1,600 redirects and consolidated 113 duplicate collections. Average position went from 24.2 in the first week after the move to 10.7 four months later, and monthly impressions grew 5.9 times.
- Published prices: audits and migration plans from £1,600.
- Reviews: 4.9 from 33 Google reviews. None on Clutch or Trustpilot yet.
Worth knowing: I'm one person, so I'm best on the diagnosis and the redirect plan. If you also need a development team to build the new site, you'll need an agency alongside me.
Climb & Conquer
Best for: smaller businesses recovering from a botched migration.
- Company: Climb & Conquer Ltd, incorporated in 2021 (Companies House 13582125), founded by Shane Parkins and based in Teesside.
- Migration results: its migration page describes a client that came to it after a botched migration had cut organic traffic by 57.4%. Three months later, organic traffic was 56% above its pre-migration level.
- Reviews: a TrustScore of 4.6 from 19 Trustpilot reviews.
- Published prices: none.
Worth knowing: a young agency, but one of only two on this list publishing a migration rescue with numbers.
If you're planning a migration
This is where a specialist earns the most.
The cheapest migration fix is the one you make before launch day, while the old URLs are still live and you can crawl them.
Tom Crewe
Best for: a planned migration run start to finish by one senior consultant.
- Who does the work: Tom Crewe, a freelance SEO consultant based in Bournemouth who says he led website migrations agency-side before going independent.
- Company: Tom Crewe SEO Limited, incorporated in 2021 (Companies House 13579253).
- What he offers: migration services covering a new design, platform, domain or structure, run entirely remotely.
- Migration results: none published with numbers, though his page includes a client testimonial about a migration.
- Published prices: none.
Worth knowing: his homepage ranks first in Google in the UK for "freelance seo consultant" on a site with a Domain Rating of 8. He practises what he sells.
Edge45
Best for: lead generation businesses moving domain or rebranding.
- Company: Edge45 Limited, incorporated in 2015 (Companies House 09535373).
- Migration results: its migration page reports a migration and rebrand for I-Finity (27% more leads and a 169% higher conversion rate), and its own site's migration (57% more organic users year on year).
- Reviews: its site points to 22 five-star Google reviews. I didn't find it on Trustpilot.
- Search signal: that migration page ranks second in Google in the UK for "seo migration agency".
Worth knowing: publishing the results of your own site migration is a confident move. Ask to see the redirect plan behind it.
SALT.agency
Best for: large, technically complex sites where the migration is mostly an engineering problem.
- Company: a trading name of Subpixel Ltd, incorporated in 2014 (Companies House 09144862), registered in Horsforth, Leeds, the same suburb I work from.
- Based: Leeds and London.
- Migration results: none found on its site, though two other agencies name it in their UK migration agency roundups.
- Reviews: one Trustpilot review. Its site shows a five-star Reviews.co.uk rating from 16 reviews.
Worth knowing: SALT is known for technical SEO. Ask for a migration case study on a site the size of yours.
The SEO Works
Best for: businesses that want the migration handled inside an ongoing SEO retainer.
- Company: The SEO Works Ltd, incorporated in 2009 (Companies House 06845547), based in Sheffield.
- Reviews: 4.8 from 58 reviews on Clutch, and a TrustScore of 4.2 from 38 Trustpilot reviews.
- Published prices: SEO retainers from £1,500 a month, according to its packages page.
- What it offers: a free website migration SEO checklist, and two other agencies name it in their UK migration agency roundups.
Worth knowing: the most independent reviews of anyone on this list. Ask which of them mention a migration.
Found
Best for: consumer brands replatforming as part of a wider search programme.
- Based: London.
- What it offers: a dedicated website migration service, which ranks fourth in Google in the UK for "seo migration agency".
- Migration results: none found on that page.
- Reviews: a Trustpilot profile with no reviews yet.
Worth knowing: migration is one service among many here, so ask who on the team owns it.
Ink Digital
Best for: businesses that want the new site set up for AI search as well as Google.
- Based: London.
- What it offers: a website migration service, alongside AI search work.
- Reviews: a TrustScore of 4.5 from 15 Trustpilot reviews.
- Migration results: none found on the migration page.
Worth knowing: a migration is a good moment to fix how AI crawlers see your site. Ask how they'd handle it.
If your migration is specialist
Some migrations need sector knowledge more than general SEO.
Adido
Best for: travel brands.
- What it offers: site migration work, with a stated track record of migrations for a wide mix of travel brands.
- Search signal: its migration page ranks seventh in Google in the UK for "seo migration agency".
- Reviews: a Trustpilot profile with no reviews yet.
- Published prices: none.
Worth knowing: travel sites carry thousands of seasonal and destination URLs. A specialist who's moved one before is worth the premium.
Red flags when you hire for a migration

- "We'll sort the redirects after launch": by then, Google has already found the 404s. The redirect map has to be finished and tested before go-live.
- No crawl of the old site: without a full list of old URLs and what they earn, nobody can tell you what you're about to lose.
- Redirecting everything to the homepage: Google treats mass homepage redirects as soft 404s, so the equity doesn't carry over.
- No plan for the weeks after launch: a good specialist monitors 404s, Search Console coverage and rankings for at least a month.
My guide to website migration SEO has the full checklist, and a free checker for your redirect map.
What migration SEO costs in the UK
Only two of the nine publish any starting price: my audits and migration plans start at £1,600, and The SEO Works' SEO retainers start at £1,500 a month.
The good news?
A migration plan is a one-off cost, and it's tiny next to the revenue a failed migration takes with it. My survey of published UK SEO prices shows what 20 providers charge more generally.
Final Thoughts
Most migrations don't fail because the new site is worse.
They fail because nobody mapped the old one properly.
The migration specialists worth hiring aren't the ones with the slickest service page. They're the ones who can show you a migration they've done, with the numbers before and after.
If you're planning a move, or you've already moved and traffic has dropped, that's work I do. Start with a technical SEO audit or get in touch and tell me what's changed.

Website Migration SEO Frequently Asked Questions
When should I bring in an SEO specialist for a website migration?
Before the new site is built. The specialist needs to crawl the old site, record what each URL earns and agree the new URL structure, so the redirect map is finished and tested before launch rather than patched afterwards.
How much does website migration SEO cost in the UK?
Few providers publish prices. Of the nine in this guide, GWContent publishes audits and migration plans from £1,600, and The SEO Works publishes SEO retainers from £1,500 a month. Larger or multi-language migrations usually cost more.
Can you recover traffic after a failed migration?
Usually, yes, if you act quickly. At REHAUS, average position went from 24.2 in the first week after a failed domain move to 10.7 four months later, after the redirects were rebuilt. Climb & Conquer reports a client 56% above pre-migration traffic three months after a botched move.
How do I check a migration agency is any good?
Ask for a migration case study with traffic or rankings before and after, not a general SEO result. Then look the company up at Companies House and read its reviews on Clutch or Trustpilot rather than its own testimonials.
